SQS-TH-I-B · SQS-Sensor
A self-powered LoRa node with the sensor and battery built in. Drop it where you can’t run power or wiring — it wakes, measures, sends over a self-healing mesh, and sleeps. Years on one charge.

Preliminary datasheet (Rev 0.1), issued before hardware prototyping. Electrical, battery-life and in-enclosure sensing figures are estimates and will be finalised after characterisation.
You’re looking at SQS-TH-I-B — the battery version. Have USB / 5 V power at the spot? The base SQS-TH-I skips the internal cell and runs on USB.
The SQS-Sensor line
SQS-Sensor is the built-in-sensor sibling of our SQC485Iv2 RS485 node: the same radio, power and enclosure platform, with the RS485 terminal block swapped for an on-board environmental sensor.
| SQC485Iv2 | SQS-TH-I-B (this product) | |
|---|---|---|
| External interface | 4-pin terminal block (power + RS485 A/B) | None — bottom-end sensing slots |
| Data source | Third-party Modbus / RS485 instrument | Its own built-in temp/humidity sensor |
| Power | 8–30 V panel power or USB-C | Built-in 18650 battery + USB-C charging |
| Setup | Build a config from the Modbus table | Works out of the box — no decoding table |
| Shared | MCU · LoRa radio · USB-C · BLE · enclosure tooling · firmware skeleton · Ø70 label face | |
A drop-and-report temperature & humidity node for the places wiring can’t reach — warehouses, silos, greenhouses, mezzanines, remote cabinets, cold rooms.
A TI HDC1080 digital sensor sits inside the enclosure (typ. ±0.2 °C, ±2 % RH). No external transmitter and no decoding table — it just reports temperature and humidity.
Runs on an internal 18650 Li-ion cell and charges over USB-C with automatic power-path. Removing the RS485 transceiver drops deep-sleep current to ~6 µA — multi-year battery life in the power-save profile.
Several nodes form a self-healing Meshtastic mesh — no dedicated gateway, each node relays for the others. A node with an internet uplink (MQTT) forwards the data onward.
The sensor has an integrated heater that automatically drives off condensation above 95 % RH — so readings stay usable in humid, dew-prone spots.
Set it up in the field over USB Type-C or BLE 5.0 from a phone or browser — no re-flashing, no laptop toolchain. USB-C also charges the battery and gives console access.
Our free cross-platform gateway (Linux / macOS / Windows) reads the mesh over USB or BLE and forwards to your own MQTT broker → database, Node-RED or Grafana. Standard payloads, no cloud lock-in.
The same unit is either a battery sensor or a mains-powered mesh extender, chosen in configuration.
The node sleeps between reports and runs for years on the internal battery. This is the profile for the battery-life figures below.
Set the node as a Meshtastic router to extend the mesh. In this role it does not sleep — keep it on USB power.
